Bangladesh will start a Covid-19 mass vaccination drive across the country for administering the second dose from Tuesday.
“Citizens can get their second doses from the same centre where they received their first dose,” Dr Shamsul Haque, the member secretary of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Vaccine Deployment Committee said on Sunday.
Senior citizens and women would receive shots on a priority basis during the first two hours from 9am to 11am during the program, he added.
“We have already supplied the required number of vaccines to the district and upazila levels,” he said.
He added that breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women who were yet to receive the text message could go to their registered centres and get inoculated.
“However, they will need to carry a no-objection certificate from their doctors,” he said.
Dr Shamsul Haque said works were underway to ensure vaccines for specially-abled citizens through the ID number of Suborna card issued by the Ministry of Social Welfare.
