Uzbekistan U-19 football team arrives in city

A 29-member entourage of the Uzbekistan U-19 football team arrived in the capital on Tuesday afternoon to participate in the Group A matches of the AFC U-19 Championship beginning next Friday (Oct 2) at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
Following the Uzbeks, the Sri Lankan team will reach Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport in Dhaka on Wednesday (Sept 30) morning by a flight of Mihir Lanka Airlines.
Apart from hosts Bangladesh, the other team for the four-nation U-19s meet, Bhutan, are already here.
Host Bangladesh, which put in Group A of the AFC U-19 Championship along with Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka and Bhutan, will play Sri Lanka on the opening day (Oct 2) at 6pm while Uzbekistan will play Bhutan in the inaugural match at 3pm on the day.
In remaining group matches, Bangladesh will play Bhutan on Oct 4 at 6 pm while they will face Uzbekistan on Oct 6 in their last group match at the same time.
Meanwhile, the three teams already here-Bangladesh, Uzbekistan and Bhutan-practised at their respective Dhaka and Savar patches on Tuesday.
Bhutan practised at BKSP in Savar from 11 am. Hosts Bangladesh were out at the Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club from 3 pm, while Uzbekistan had a kick-around at the Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club from 4:30 pm.
