Uttara Adhunik Medical College & Hospital provides better treatment since its inception

Uttara Adhunik Medical College and Hospital, one of the leading private medical college and hospital in the northern part of capital Dhaka, has been providing better treatment to patients since its establishment in 2003.
Previously known as Bangladesh Medical College and Hospital, it is a 500-bed multi-disciplinary hospital in Uttara, offering tertiary level healthcare services to all kinds of patients from across the country, particularly from Uttara, Tongi, Gazipur and Savar.
According to hospital sources, around one thousand patients visit the hospital everyday because of reasonable cost and better treatment.
The total land area of the hospital complex is about five bighas of land. The main building of the hospital is a 17 storied. The top four levels are being temporarily used for the college section. There are three separate buildings for Radiology, Orthopedics, ENT, Dental and Emergency
departments. Initially the hospital started with outdoor facility on 12th.March, 2003. Its indoor facilities began from 10th March, 2005. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has registered the 500-bed capacity of the hospital, the sources said.
The main building provides outstanding medical, surgical, obstetrics and gynaecological services. The hospital also has 24 hours emergency services, modern diagnostic facilities, ICU, CCU, NICU and Haemodialysis unit. It has about 986 staff members of which 234 teachers and doctors; 343 nurses; 76 technicians; 286 attendants and cleaner; and 47 security guards. The hospital has yearly turnover of around two to three Lakh patients.
According to the hospital records, the total hospital admission was 75,624 with 2,10,777 of outpatient attendance during the period of July 2017 to June 2018. The hospital continues to acquire sophisticated medical equipment, renowned specialists, highly skilled nursing and support staffs to contributing to its reputation as a medical centre of excellence.
While talking with this correspondent, Principal of the medical college Dr Sabbir Ahmed said that everyday around 800 to 1,200 patients visit this hospital for treatment because of its better services and reputation.
“Since Uttara is one of the vital parts of the capital, our hospital gets priority for its reasonable cost as well as better treatment,” he added.
While talking with some patients on the campus, one of the patients named Monir said that this hospital is much better than other hospitals. “I am impressed when I went for my father’s eye treatment there.”
Another patient named Mukul Rahman said that it is one of the popular medical college hospitals in city’s Uttara area. Also a very big in size, the hospital has various departments to provide better treatment to the patients.
Visitor Sazzadur Rahman also said that it’s undoubtedly a nice place for health check-up within a very considerable price.
Medical college students are also satisfied over the teaching methodology and having convenient environment. They said the medical and hospital has enough instruments for the intern doctors and rich lab is also available here.
