Uttar Baridhara Club outplayed former champions Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra 3-0 in their first 2nd phase match of the JB Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Tuesday.
With the day’s victory, Uttar Baridhara Club advanced to the 11th slot in the league table collecting nine points from 12 matches while Sheikh Russel KC remained at bottom in the 12-team league with their previous credit of eight points from 12 encounters.
Brazilian forward Leonardo Lima scored two goals while Sujon Biswas netted other goal for the winners.
Sujon Biswas put Baridhara ahead in the 13th minute by a right footed placing shot from ther danger zone when a right footer powerful shot of Khalekurzaman Shobuj came his way reflecting Sheikh Russel defender (1-0)
Leonardo Lima doubled the Baridhara margin in the 61st minute by a his solo afford by a right footed angular shot ( 2-0).
Brazilian forward Leonardo Lima scored his second and the 3rd goal for Uttara Baridhara in the 85th minute converting a penalty (3-0). Uttar Baridhara was awarded a penalty by referee Jalaluddin as Sheikh Russel custodian Ziaur Rahman fouled onrushing Leonardo Lima in the danger zone.
Earlier in the 12th minute, Uttar Baridhara managed a good chance but a right footed shot of Leonardo Lima was brilliantly saved by Russel goalie Ziaur Rahman
In the 75th minute, Baridhara got another golden chance to score, but a powerful shot of Khalekurzaman Shobuj from top of the box, was nicely saved by Russel custodian Ziaur Rahman at the cost of a corner
