Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique called upon all to work together to make use of the potentialities of the disable children.
“The strength of the youth can overcome all kinds of hindrances. They will work to take the country forward,” he said, adding that the underprivileged people will go forward too, if they get cooperation.
Professor Arefin Siddique said this on Saturday while addressing a programme titled “Championing Change: Celebrating Leadership and Motherhood” organized by Spreeha Bangladesh Foundation (SBF) at Mujaffar Ahmad Chowdhory Auditorium on DU campus marking the World Mother Day.
World Teachers Foundation chief Mahfuza Khanam addressed the function as the guest of honour while SBF Trustee Board Chairman Mahmud Hasan was in the chair.
The DU Vice-Chancellor urged all to take the country ahead eliminating discriminations being inspired with the spirit of War of Liberation and non-communalism.
Later, the disable children were told the life stories of celebrated personalities to encourage them to go forward.
The SBF, a non government development organization, has launched a programme titled “Ten Lakh Smile Club” to make smile 10 lakh underprivileged children by 2021.
