Special musical show Aamare Debo Na Bhulite, based on the activities of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, will be aired tonight on Gazi TV at 9:00pm where noted classical and Nazrul artiste and trainer Ustad Yakub Ali Khan will perform. Yakub Ali’s elder son, singer and music director Yousuf Ali Khan will also perform along with his father
in the programme.
Yakub Ali said he will render Nazrul songs Pordeshi Megh, Aamar Apnar Cheye and Mor Priya Hobe Esho Rani, while Yousuf will sing Darale Duare Mor, Ekela Gouri and Bandhlo Bandhlo Jhulania songs in the programme.
While talking about to perform in the show Ustad Yakub Ali Khan said, “We should respect Nazrul’s activities and his creations. Earlier, GTV worked with Nazrul songs and singers. They are very much cordial in this regard. I always pray for them.”
Yakub Ali Khan received training in classical music from Prabir Kumar Chatterjee, Narayan Chandra Bosak, Ustad Barin Majumder and Pandit Mithun Dey, and also received lessons on Nazrul songs from Sheikh Lutfar Rahman and Khalid Hossain, among other noted singers. For last two decades he has been performing as judge for classical and Nazrul songs on BTV.
