Usha Krira Chakra and Abahani Limited made good start in the Green Delta Insurance Metropolis Premier Division Hockey league beating their rivals on the opening day at the Maulana Bhasani National Stadium on Saturday.
Usha KC made a flying start crushing Dhaka Wanderers Club by 9-1 goals.
National player cum penalty corner specialist Mamunur Rahman Chayan scored three goals by his favorite penalty corners, Rimon Kumar Ghosh,
Mainul Islam, Maksud Alam Habul and Krishno Kumar netted one each for the winners while two other were suicidal goals.
Mamun scored the consolation goal for the Wanderers Club.
In the day’s other match, Abahani Limited outplayed Azad SC by 5-1 goals at the same venue.
Ashraful Islam struck twice, Sheikh Mohammad Nannu, Pushkar Khisha Mimo and Romman Sarkar netted one goal each for the winners while Shohanur Rahman netted the lone goal for the losers.
