Use of modern tech to cut climate change effects

Emphasizing use of modern technology to reduce the consequences of recent climate change, speakers at a national workshop urged the researchers and scientists to carry out research for the benefit of the people in Bangladesh.
Jointly organised by Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), International Center for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), Nepal and USAID, the national workshop titled “SERVIR Hindu Kush Himalaya Needs Assessment” was held in LGED headquarters in the city on Tuesday.
SERVIR is a joint initiative of USAID and NASA and ICIMOD, Nepal is the regional hub organization of the SERVIR program. Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Secretary and Chair, ICIMOD Board of Governors
 Naba Bikrom Kishore Tripurs was present as the chief guest, while LGED Chief Engineer Shyama Prosad Adhikari chaired the inaugural session of the workshop.
In his opening remarks, Naba Bikrom Kishore Tripura highlighted the need for use of modern technology such as satellite image to minimize the consequences of recent climate change.
