A six-member delegation led by Professor David W Tonkyn of Clemson University of USA called on Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique on Wednesday at his office of the university.
Other members of the delegation, among others, were Dr Karl Wurster, Deputy Director of USAID Bangladesh and Prakash Kant Silwal, Chief of Party for the USAID’s Bagh Activity.
Prof M Anwarul Islam of the Department of Zoology of DU and Assistant Professor Gawsia W Chowdhury of the same Department were present on the occasion.
During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest specially the possibilities of under-taking joint collaborative research programs on wildlife conservation and environmental sciences by the University of Dhaka and Clemson University, USA.
They also discussed possibilities of introducing “Tigers Conservation Research Project” at Dhaka University. They agreed to sign a MoU in this regard soon.
The vice-chancellor thanked the guests for their visit to university.
