Uprooting terrorism to implement development projects emphasized

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, MP, underlined the need for uprooting terrorist activities for successful implementation of the development projects.He said the district level administrative and police officials and others concerned should come forward with all their efforts to eliminate all sorts of crimes as the government is pledged to free the country from the curses.
The state minister said this yesterday while addressing a district development coordination committee meeting held in the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner
in Rajshahi as the chief guest.
Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, also addressed the meeting with Deputy Commissioner Helal Mahmud Sharif in the chair.
Superintending of Police Muazzem Hossain Bhuiyan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Salahuddin, Deputy Director of Department of Fisheries Subrata Kumar Paul and Chief Engineer of Rajshahi City Corporation Ashraful Haque, among others, spoke at the meeting.
Officials from police, RAB, BGB, Ansar-VDP, local government institutions and other members of the committee were present at the meeting. The minister said the law-enforcers should always play a supportive role in successful implementation of the present government’s development activities as success of a government largely depends on law and order situation in the country.
He said the present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working for the last eight and a half years for the wellbeing of the people.
Shahriar Alam expressed his optimism that Bangladesh would become a middle-income country by 2021 if the present development spree in all sectors continues.
