A United People’s Democratic Front (UDPF) member was killed by miscreants in Alutila area under Matiranga Upazila on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased was Gyanendu Chakma, of Mahalchhari Upazila, said Officer-in-Charge of Matiranga Police Station Syed Zakir Hossain.
Local people heard gunfire sound in the area and informed police. Later, police found the victim’s bullet-hit body.
The body was sent to Khagrachhari Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
