Sardar Masudur Rahman, Vice-chairman of Bagerhat Sadar Upazila Parishad who was already expelled recently from the post of the Secretary General of Bagerhat Sadar Upazila unit of Bangladesh Awami League, was arrested on Thursday afternoon from Khardar Mallikbari Crossing area.
He was shown arrested by the police in connection with a bomb-blast incident. Sardar Masudur Rahman was previously expelled from the post of Secretary General of Bagerhat Sadar Upazila Awami League on the charge of breaking the party discipline and taking part in the election campaign of Awami League rebel Mayoral candidate of Bagerhat Pourashava
After the arrest of Masudur Rahman the local people brought out a big procession which paraded the main roads of the district town shouting various slogans against Masudur Rahman and demanding his exemplary punishment.
