UP, Poura election acid test for govt: Ershad

Former President and Chairman of Jatiya Party Hussain Md. Ershad said his party will not accept the results of UP and poura elections if held like city corporation Mayor election. He said this while addressing the biennial conference of Chittagong South of Jatiya party in Patiya on Monday last as chief guest.
Who is also Special Envoy to the Prime Minister said, the ensuing election of UP and pourashavas across the country is one of the acid test for govt and JP is always for non-partisan neutral election.
He further warned that if these election are conducted like immediately held City corporation election, JP will not accept the results of that polls. Mentionable that the election of 323 pourashavas and 553 UPs expected to be held in December next. Former President said these election will be held under party basis as per govt decision. He said during the regime of JP, none including any foreigner was killed but I resigned from power for only one Nur Hussain’s killing.
He said there is no rule of law in the country , people are not getting justice for illegal killings , students afraid of going to school and colleges and also children are not saved from this barbarism of killings and repression. He further said JP want to establish politics of peace in the country.
JP Chairman introduced Shamsul Hoque Master as a JP candidate for Patiya poura Chairman in ensuing poura polls.
 He also introduced Abdus Sattar as senior vice president and Nurusafa Sarkar as general secretary of the next patiya poura election. Among others, Water resources Minister and Presidum member of JP Anisul Islam Mahmud , Syed Abul Hossain Babla MP, Taj Rahman MP, Mahjabin Morshed MP, former MP Sirajul Islam Chowdhiry and Senior Joint Secretary General of JP Rezaul Islam spoke on the occasion . The meeting was presided by the Convenor of South District JP Shamsul Hoque Master.
