A UP member named Habibur Rahman Habib from Laxmikunda in Ishwardi was arrested with 5 grams of heroin worth around Rs 200,000. On Thursday afternoon, officials of the Ishwardi Circle of the Narcotics Control Department raided and arrested him on the basis of secret information. The arrested Habib member is a current member of Ward 9 of Laxmiku Union in Ishwardi Upazila. A responsible source in the Ishwardi Circle Office of the Narcotics Control Department confirmed the information to reporters on Friday morning.
According to sources, on the morning of the incident, the Drug Control Department received information that Habib member had two kg of heroin. On the basis of this news, they bought 1 gram of heroin from their own source for 35 thousand rupees and confirmed that Habib member is a heroin dealer. Later in the afternoon, Inspector Chanowar Hossain of the Ishwardi Circle Office of the Narcotics Control Department conducted an operation with the accompanying force and arrested Habib Member with 5 grams of heroin and handed him over to the police station.
