Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested an UP member along with 9mm pistols, 49 rounds of Bullets and 19 magazines from the Putkhali border in Benapole on Friday afternoon
The arrested was identified as Korban Biswas of Putkhali village and a elected member of Putkhali Union Parishad.
Lt. M Sarwar Hussain, Company Commander from Jashore RAB-6, said that after receiving a secret information that a large consignment of arms from India was going to Jashore, RAB members raided the house of Putkhali UP member Habibur Rahman and seized 9 , 9mm pistols, 49 rounds Bullets and 19 magazines. Later RAB arrest, the UP member involved in arms business for a long time, RAB said. Detained Habibur Rahman was handed over to Benapole Port Police Station after interrogation.
A case has been registered in this regard at Benapole Port Police Station.
