UP chairman killing Eight more accused arrested in Barishal

The prime accused and seven other of his associates arrested by police for killing UP chairman and AL leader Biswajit Haldar.
Police also recovered a firearms used in that killing with ammunitions on Wednesday.
It was claimed in a press briefing organized by district police in the Barishal Police Line Conference Room on Wednesday afternoon.
The newly arrested eight included prime accused Shakil Islam Rabbi,25, and his associates Mamun Shah, 35, Kawsar Serniabad, Ershad, Kuddus Hawladar, Hadiul Islam Hadi, Dipu and Md. Sohag, aged between 20-30.
Saiful Islam, Barishal district superintendent of police said, police considering the killing as a serious offence against law and order continued their drive to arrest the alleged killers and their associates.
Accordingly Rabbi and his associates were arrested from Mohammad area of Dhaka city and according to their confession police recovered a pistol with 2 round ammunitions from their custody.
 SP told, in interrogation the arrestees said that the killing was happened for opposing drug trading and controlling supremacy in the area by Nantu Chairman.
Two conspiracy and planning meetings were held at Dhaka and local area and profession killers are recruited to commit the crime, the police sources said.
Shishir Kumar Paul, OC of Wazirpur police Station, said the drives continued to arrest rest of the accused.
Mentionable, Jalla Union Parishad chairman and Union AL president Biswajit Haldar Nantu was shot dead by unidentified killers at his shops at Harta Bazar on September 21,2018 night.
His father Suk Lal Haldar lodged a murder case accusing 32 persons by-name and 8 others on next day.
Till this report police arrested total 20 persons including newly arrested 8 in that case.
Local people since the killing continued agitation programmes including strike, rally and human chain in that area demanding arresting the killers and their associates.
