Unusual death of another doctor in city

Another unusual death of a doctor occurred in city’s Maghbazar on Monday.
The doctor named Jihanul Alim (55) worked at the Health Department, according to his relatives.
The victim was brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in an unconscious state on Monday afternoon, said DMCH Outpost Police Inspector Bacchu Miah.
The on-duty doctor of the emergency department declared him dead at around 3 pm.
DMCH Resident Physician Dr Alauddin said, “We have found doctor Jihanul Alim dead. Deceased had also black spots around his neck. An autopsy will be done to find out the cause of death. Jihanul Alim’s relatives said he was an official of the health department.
Jihanul Alim’s wife Farhana Alim said, “My husband had suffered a severe brain stroke. He was rushed to DMCH where the doctor pronounced him dead.
She added that their village home is in Pirojpur district. They live in the Peyarabagh area of the capital’s Maghbazar.
Meanwhile, Investigation Officer (IO) of the case Idris Ali told the New Nation yesterday that when victim’s wife Farhana brought to the police station for interrogation, she told the police; my husband became frustrated after borrowing money from several persons recently. Even he also became mentally sick as he couldn’t control his emotion. Finally he committed suicide, Farhana added.
Death of Doctor Jihanul Alim has not been ascertained yet. However, the whole incident is being investigated, IO added.
Earlier, police recovered the body of a female doctor from her house in the city’s Kalabagan on 31 may of this year.
The deceased was identified as Kazi Sabira Rahman (47), a physician at Green Life Hospital.
