Noman Mosharef :
Without passing written examination, two applicants were finally selected for government job. Interestingly, father of a candidate was the member of the recruitment board formed by Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief’s Cyclone Preparedness programme (CPP).
But, recruitment board member secretary has denied the compliant saying that it is a rumour as misguided people want to make questionable this recruitment.
On the other hand, Transparency International Bangladesh (TlB) has demanded investigation into the allegation, and cancelation of this recruitment if it needed.
There are indictments for recruiting process in Bangladesh as corruption and nepotism are work here. But there is no example of recruitment without passing written exam. Sabah Binte Hossain and Md Suman have made example as there is no need to pass exam for recruitment.
Written exams were held on August 26 for total of 108 posts in 18 divisions of the CPP under the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief. Two days later, on August 28, the results were published on the CPP website.
But there were no roll numbers of Sabah and Sumon for the posts of Junior Assistant Director and Assistant Cum Radio Operator. But names were found in the final selection.
According to the investigation, Sumon’s father Majed Hawladar is working at the CPP office in Taltoli, Barguna.
Meanwhile, the final nominee for the post of assistant director Muhaiminul Islam’s father Nur Islam Khan works as the CPP’s director of operations. He is also one of the members of this appointment board. He claimed that he had resigned from the board.
After the storm of criticism through social media, the CPP picked up the PDF file of the written test results from the website.
Iftekharuzzaman, executive director of TIB, called it a violation of the constitution.
After investigating the matter, TIB also demanded the cancellation of the appointment.
