Universiti Utara Malaysia team calls on UGC Chairman

A three-member delegation from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) called on Prof Abdul Mannan, Chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh at UGC on Tuesday. Prof Dr Yusnidah bt Ibrahim, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of UUM led the delegation.
They discussed various aspects of higher education including providing assistance to the Bangladeshi students and researchers. The UUM will also give education exchange programme and a tuition waiver for the Bangladeshi students.
Prof Yusnidah Ibrahim said her university is eager to work closely with the universities of Bangladesh and sought cooperation from UGC.
UGC Chairman Prof Mannan assured the delegation of extending necessary cooperation in this regard. He said UGC always focus on skill and job oriented education. Their call (UUM) will pave the way for creating mid level managers in the country.
A total of 59 Bangladeshi students are enrolled in UUM, the eminent management university. The Universiti Utara Malaysia’s position in the QS World university ranking is 128th in Asia.
Prof Dr Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah, Prof Dr Dil Afroza Begum, Prof Dr Md. Akhtar Hossain, Members, UGC; Dr Md. Khaled, Secretary, Dr Shamsul Arefin, Director, Public Relations and Right to Information Division, Jesmin Pervin, Additional Director, ICC of UGC were present.
