United Hospital MD gets bail in tax dodging case

The Metropolitan Session’s Judge’s Court of Dhaka yesterday granted bail to the capital’s United Hospital’s Managing Director Faridur Rahman Khan in a case filed for dodging holding tax.
Judge Md Kamrul Hossain Mollah of the court granted the bail on Monday after Faridur Rahman surrendered to his court seeking bail in the graft case.
On last January 11, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) lodged the case against Faridur Rahman Khan on charge of dodging revenue
amounting to Tk 21 crore. ACC Deputy Director Mahabubul Alam filed the case with Gulshan Police Station of the city. Rahima Begum, a former commissioner of undivided Dhaka City Corporation was also made accused in the case as she allegedly cooperated Faridur Rahman in the misdeed.
