Highlighting the importance of freeing the society from domestic violence speakers at a participatory discussion yesterday unequivocally called for a concerted effort of all government and non-government entities concerned to curb the violence.
Role of the grassroots level development organizations and mass-media is very important towards preventing gender-based violence.
The discussants came up with the observation while addressing a seminar related to prevention of domestic violence. Net to Rights and Thanapara Swallows Development Society (TSDS) jointly organized the community level seminar at TSDS office premises in Rajshahi supported by The Sowalose in Denmark, reports BSS.
Chaired by TSDS Executive Director Raihan Ali, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Social Development Officer Rabiul Karim, Officer-in-Charge of Charghat Police Station Abdul Latif, Rulfao Director Afzal Hossain and TSDS Director Mahmuda Begum.
