Unfortunate eight countries failed to move into the quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup 2014. Most of the teams were out of the gala extravaganza after performing a neck-to-neck fight against their opponents. The eight teams bade Brazil good-bye after taking part in the Round of 16.
Chile, Uruguay, Nigeria, Mexico, Algeria, Greece, Switzerland and USA failed to take place in the last eight.
Brazil, Colombia, France, Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Netherlands and Costa Rica reached the quarterfinals.
Earlier, Cameroon, Croatia, reigning champions Spain, Australia, Ivory Coast, Japan, favourites England, strong Italy, Ecuador, Honduras, Iran, Bosnia, powerful Portugal, Ghana, South Korea and Russia were ousted from the first round (group stage).
It will take a few days to confirm which team will return home with 20th World Cup. On the other hand, if Brazil win the World Cup, the hosts will earn the championship title for sixth times.
