Under Construction premiered in France

Director Rubaiyat Hossain’s acclaimed film Under Construction has been released in the movie theatres of eight major cities of France including Paris, Belfort, Clairmont and others on Wednesday.
The film starring Shahana Goswami, Rahul Bose, Sohel Mondol, Mita Rahman and others features the story of a woman’s struggle in the conservative society. Shahana Goswami and Mita Rahman attended the opening show of the film at Le Sait-Andre Des Arts in Paris.
While talking in this regard its director Rubaiyat Hossain told this correspondent over mobile phone, “It is indeed a great honour to see Under Construction, which is a Bangladeshi film, being released in the movie theatres of eight cities of France at the same time. After France, the film may be released in movie theatres of other European countries.”
The film had its world premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival in Washington, USA, in 2015. It won the best film award at the Salamindanaw Asian Film Festival in Philippine and the Jury Prize at the Festival du Film d’Asie du Sud in Paris, France.
The film also participated in the Montreal Film Festival in Canada, Sao Paolo Film Festival in Brazil, Stockholm Film Festival in Montreal, and Kerala International Film Festival in India.
