A man and his nephew were killed and two others injured in a clash over a land dispute at Dungria village under Dakkhin Sunamganj upazila in Sunamganj on Thursday morning.
The deceased are Abdul Tahid, 62, son of Osman Miah and his nephew Ripon Miah, 42, son of Rafid Miah.
Additional police were deployed in the area to control untoward situation.
According to the source, there was a land dispute between Tahid and Ripon. They locked into clash at 8am. At one stage of the clash, they were injured and admitted to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared them dead.
Confirming the matter to Jago News, Muktadeer Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Dakkhin Sunamganj Police Station, said the incident took place over a land dispute between two families.
