Rohingya situation: UN Spl Envoy to submit report in 2 weeks

Yanghee Lee, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar who recently visited the Rohingya camps here, said she will submit a report within two weeks over the situation of Rohingya population who had crossed into Bangladesh over the past 4-5 months.
Lee said this at a press conference after visiting Kutupalong refugee camp in Ukhia upazila at noon.
She said during the three-day visit to Cox’s Bazar she got a clear idea what had happened in the Rakhine State of Myanmar after talking to the Rohingyas staying in several refugee camps. The report is scheduled to be published on March 13.
On February 21, she visited Balukhali unregistered Rohingya Camp and talked to Rohingya refugees.
Later, she visited Nayapara and Leda Rohingya camps in Teknaf upazila on February 22.
Lee also visited Myanmar from January 9 to January 20 to observe the situation of the Rohingya in Rakhine state.
