University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) and American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) will meet in the final of the Walton Refrigerator 2nd University Challenge Cup today as they beat their rivals in the semifinals at BKSP in Savar on Wednesday.
In the day’s semis, group-A champion ULAB beat group-D champion Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) by 9 wickets at BKSP Ground-3 while group-C champion AIUB defeated group-B champion Rajshahi University (RU), also by 9 wickets, at BKSP Ground-4 to confirm their final berth.
ULAB vs BAU
At BKSP ground- 3, batting first after winning the toss, BAU was dismissed for 89 runs in 19 overs.
Utsho scored the team highest 22 runs while Ratul and Subrato added 18 runs each for their side.
Morsalin Bin Mortaja claimed 4 wickets for 10 runs and was adjudged man-of-the-match. Anjam Ahmed and Avishek Mitra took 2 wickets each for 5 and 8 runs respectively.
Chasing 90 runs, ULAB easily reached the target in 7.5 overs for the loss of one wicket.
Skipper Hasanuzzaman scored 49 runs off 26 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes while Avishek Mitra and Anjam Ahmed added unbeaten 30 and 1 runs respectively.
Onee took the solitary wicket for 22 runs.

At BKSP ground-4, sent into bat first, RU scored 83 for 9 in stipulated 20 overs.
Himel scored the team highest 16 runs while Hasnat (14), Sakib (not out 12) and Moududy (11) were the other notable scorers for RU.
Towfiqul Haq captured 4 wickets for 16 runs to be adjudged man-of-the- match while Tanvir Haider took 2 wickets for 4 runs.
Chasing 84 runs to win, AIUB reached the target making 86 runs for 1 in 9.2 overs riding on the unbeaten 2nd wicket stand of 80 runs by Anamul Haque and Anisur Rahman.
Anamul Haque scored 70 runs off 37 balls with 8 fours and 5 sixes while Anisur Rahman added 10 runs.
Sakib took the only wicket for 28 runs.
