UGC Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan stressed on the need for promoting and expediting the use of digital resources among the students, teachers and researchers to enhance their skills to compete in the age of globalization. He urged the university authorities to make their websites uptodate on regular basis.
Prof Mannan was speaking at an awareness workshop on digital resources organized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh at a city hotel on Monday.
UGC Chairman was the chief guest while UGC Member Dr Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah and Senior Operations Officer, World Bank Dr Md. Mokhlesur Rahman were present as special guests. UGC Member Prof Dr Md. Akhtar Hossain presided over the function. Md. Korban Ali, Project Director (In-charge), Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) delivered the welcome address and UGC Secretary Dr Md. Khaled gave the vote of thanks on the occasion.
Vice-Chancellors and Librarians of 41 member universities of UGC Digital Library participated in the workshop.
UGC Member Prof Dr Dil Afroza Begum, officials of UGC, HEQEP and Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN) were present on the occasion.
