Udichi bombing Tragedy Day observed

Cultural organisation Udichi Shilpi Goshthi observed its 20th Tragedy Day on Wednesday in Jessore through elaborated programmes.
The programmes include wearing of black badges, placing wreath at the memorial, lighting up candle, condolence meeting, blood donation and cultural functions.
Mahbubur Rahman Majnu, acting president, Jessore district unit Udichi Shilpi Goshthi chaired the discussion at Musshi Meherullah Maidan in the afternoon where Iqbal Kabir Jahid, Mahmud Hasan Bulu, Ekram-ud- Daullah and other cultural activists spoke.
in the meanwhile, Shamsunnahar, mother of dead Sheikh Nazmul Huda Tapan, who was killed in the Udichi bombing, at a press conference held at Jashore Press Club, alleged that Tapan’s family is yet to get ownership of the 5 decimal land given by the prime minister to her family.
10 persons were killed and over 150 were injured in two separate bomb explosions at the cultural function of the 12th National Convention of Udichi Shilpi Goshthi at Munshi Meherullah Maidan at around 1am on 7th March in 1999.
On the eve of its tragedy day, Mahbubur Rahman Majnu, acting president, Jessore district unit Udichi Shilpi Goshthi told journalists, ‘we are frustrated being demanding justice of the tragedy.’
