‘UCEP contributes successfully in producing skilled workforce’

The Underprivileged Children’s Educational Programmes in Bangladesh (UCEP-Bangladesh) has been contributing successfully in producing skilled workforce to meet demand of skilled manpower of local industries.
Speakers said this today at the UCEP Employers’ Committee Meeting organised by Rangpur Regional UCEP Office under its Employment Support Service Component at the Board Room of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) area in the city.
Chairperson of the UCEP Regional Employers’ Committee for Rangpur Region and President of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu presided over the meeting.
Programme Officer (Employment Support Service) of UCEP Bangladesh from its Dhaka Head Office Ghazi Sajjad Zahir, Vice-chairperson of UCEP Regional Employers’ Committee Habibur Rahman Raja, Regional Coordinator of UCEP- Bangladesh SM Shameem Ahsan, its Divisional Coordinator Galib Hossain and Senior Vice-president of Rangpur Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shahanaz Parveen spoke.
Directors of RCCI Fazlul Haque, Shah Mohammad Selim, Mostafa Ahmed and Mozammel Haque Dambel, also addressed the meeting, among others.
Members of the UCEP Regional Employers’ Committee, owners and official of different industries and factories from all over Rangpur region, owners of different beauty parlors and officials of UCEP Bangladesh were present.
In his welcome speech, SM Shameem Ahsan narrated UCEP’s activities during the past 42 years in transforming the underprivileged working children, boys and adolescents into productive and skilled human resources by providing technical, vocational education and training on various trades.
Like other regional schools, UCEP Rangpur Technical School has also been providing similar education and training to the underprivileged working children of urban areas and assisting them in getting jobs to change their fate, he said.
In his speech, Ghazi Sajjad Zahir spoke about the long-term visionary plan and activities of UCEP-Bangladesh and discussed various issues related to the employments of the trainee students of the UCEP Technical Schools.
The speakers urged the UCEP authorities for developing more innovative programmes with latest technologies to produce even more skilled workforce from UCEP Technical Schools to meet growing demand for skilled workforce of the local industries.
Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu expressed confidence in the abilities of UCEP to meet new challenges and said that more underprivileged children would avail job opportunities in future in Rangpur region without going to the other regions like in the past.
He called upon the local employers of Rangpur division for employing the skilled workforce being produced from UCEP Rangpur Technical School at Dharmodas area in the outskirts of the city.
