UCB Stock Brokerage Limited launched the first ever “Digital Booth” outside Bangladesh in Dubai on Friday. It will serve non-resident Bangladeshi (NRB) investors as well as other foreign investors who wish to invest in the Bangladesh capital market. The booth will provide one stop service to investors for account opening, fund transfer to Bangladesh for investing in the capital market, taking orders for stock/bond trading and arranging repatriation of funds from the country, said a press release.
Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, Chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), inaugurated the booth as chief guest. In his speech, Shibli explained the importance of capital market for the next phase of growth and development in Bangladesh. He mentioned that in order to achieve the desired results, it is also important to attract NRBs towards the capital market. It will not only aid Bangladesh in its growth trajectory but will also open a reliable and lucrative investment window for the NRBs.
