Communications Minister Obaidul Quader on Thursday said the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has offered to invest in projects under public-private partnership (PPP) in Bangladesh’s communications sector, different agencies have reported.
“We discussed primarily in this regard and there’ll be more talks between the two countries in near future,” Quader told reporters after a meeting with UAE Ambassador in Dhaka Saeed Bin Hajar Al Shahi at the ministry.
During the meeting, the minister said the UAE ambassador officially invited him to visit Abu Dhabi.
Earlier, Quader inaugurated annual sports competition of Mohammadpur Preparatory High School as the chief guest.
Terming corruption the main enemy, the minister called upon the students to say no to corruption, terrorism and falsehood.
“We want judicious people but not evil genius,” he said adding that the evil intellectuals are harmful for the nation.
The country will suffer from lack of prudent leadership if brilliant and wise people do not join politics,” the minister said.
He said, “We do not want to handover the country’s leadership to immoral and corrupt people.”
The function was also addressed, among others, by Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, MP.
