UAE mission in Dhaka marks its National Day

The United Arab Emirates(UAE) Embassy here celebrated the country’s 48th National Day amid fanfare and festivities with the slogan of “Year of tolerance” on Thursday.
The Embassy held a reception at a city hotel on the occasion where Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal attended as the chief guest.
Ministers, members of parliament, heads of diplomatic missions, high government officials, business persons,media personalities and personalities from academic and social institutions also attended the ceremony.
In his welcome speech, Abdulla Ali Al Hmoudi, Chargé d’affaires of the UAE embassy here, highlighted the excellent bilateral ties between the UAE and Bangladesh over four decades along with mentioning his country’s remarkable achievements in last 47 years.
He said UAE and Bangladesh have been enjoying thebest of relations for decades, which has reached a new height in recent years. “These ties are based on the principles of cooperation and mutual respect,” he added.
The mutual visits of the leaders and officials of thetwo countries, and the gradually-increasing levels of trade, economic and cultural exchange, along with investment in different sectors, are powerful indicators, which witness strengthened bilateral relations in various fields, he observed.
The envoy hoped that the existing excellent relationswould be further expanded in-depth and dimension in coming days.
Al Hmoudi also informed that the upcoming Dubai Expo 2020 will host 190 participating countries and millions of visitors from across the globe.
“Expo 2020 aspires to create a meaningful legacy that will benefit future generations globally, it’ll be a time to create, collaborate and innovate,” he added.
