The new generation technology blended with professional expertise is all set to usher a new era in the steel sector especially in Bangladesh.
 This highly advanced technology introduced for the first time in Bangladesh by one of the country’s leading steel plants will take the national steel sector to a new height and enhance the country’s image in the global steel arena.
Syed Mohammed Al Mehri, Bangladesh’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, visited the new GPH steel plant in Kumira, Sitakundo, on Friday .
He expressed satisfaction over the bilateral relations between the two countries’ government and trade in the private sector.
GPH Group Chairman Mohammad Jahangir Alam, welcomed the Ambassador, and said that GPH is the first company in the steel world whose factory is integrated electric arc furnace quantum and technology used under the same roof.
2,400 crore has been spent on this factory . 95 percent work has been completed. The factory will go into primary production in late September he added .
GPH Steel Chairman Mohammad Alamgir Kabir said, “We are working to prioritize environment and safety.
Additional Managing Director Almas Shimul said the government would provide Taka 226 crore as revenue after the plant was launched.
The employment create near about 10,000 people directly and indirectly.
Earlier, ASM Sumon head of projects informed the Ambassador and his traveling companion Mohammad Nurul Mostafa, Chairman of Brand Group of Bangladesh informed the new project through a multimedia presentation .
Advisor Engineer Moshtaq Ahmed, Amirul Islam, Pritam Chatterjee, MN Dastur & Company, Technical Auditor Anindya K Banerjee were present on the occasion.
