Sports Reporter :Hosts Bangladesh will take on South Africa in the one of the two opening day’s (Wednesday) matches of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong, while England will face Fiji in the day’s other match at the MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong. The matches begin at 9.00 am.A total of 16 nations and regions splitting into four groups of four are competing in the first phase of the gala extravaganza. All the matches are of 50 overs a side.Bangladesh, Namibia, Scotland and South Africa are in Group A, Afghanistan, Canada, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are in Group B, England, Fiji, West Indies and Zimbabwe are in Group C, while India, Ireland, Nepal and New Zealand are in Group D.The champions of Group A will take on the runners-up of Group B in the first quarterfinal, the champions of Group B will face the runners-up of Group A in the second quarterfinal, the champions of Group C will play against the runners-up of Group D in the third quarterfinal and the champions of Group D will meet the runners-up of Group C in the fourth quarterfinal.The winners of the first quarterfinal will face the winners of the second quarterfinal in the first semifinal, while the winners of the third quarterfinal will take on the winners of the fourth quarterfinal in the second semifinal.The winners of the two semifinals will face each other in the final at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on February 14.Seven venues in five cities will host matches at the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2016.The venues are MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong, Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury in Chittagong, Sheikh Kamal International Stadium in Cox’s Bazar, Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah, Sylhet District Stadium in Sylhet and Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet.
