Two women held with gold at Kalaroa border

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained two women alongwith 30 pieces of gold jewellery in Satkhira’s Kolaroa border on Sunday.
Sajeda Khatun (40) and daughter Sumi Khatun (18), wife of gold smuggler Jahurul Islam of Kakdanga village of the upazila, were arrested.
Subedar Shamsur Rahman of Kakdanga BGB camp said that on Sunday morning, according to the secret information, gold smuggler Jahurul Islam was staying in the house with gold jewelry for trafficking in India. BGB members immediately surrounded the house and smuggler Zahurul escaped with the help of his wife and daughter. Later, the BGB members searched the house and arrested 30 women with a gold jewelry.
