Two warship for Bangladesh Navy arrived at Chittagong Naval base from China on Monday last. These new warships named after the old decommissioned frigates of Bangladesh Navy as BNS Ali Haider and BNS Abu Bakkar.
Bangladesh Navy recently decommissioned the BNS Ali Haider and BNS Abu Bakkar . Asstt. Chief of Bangladesh Navy Rear Admiral AMM Aurongajeb Chy received these new warships at Chittagong base. BN sources said the speed of these warships about 26 nautical miles per hour and equipped with missiles frigate, anti aircraft gun with ship missiles and capacity to detect the location of submarines. Sources said these newly procured warships sailed from Kingdow Port of China with 29 officers and 231 sailors. After crossing 7062 kilometers waterways , these ships arrived Chittagong Naval base.
