Police in Rangpur have reported deaths of two suspected robbers in what is being described as a shootout.
The victims of the incident at Taraganj Upazila have been identified as 40-year-old Mashiur Rahman and 32-year-old Bijoy Chandra.
Taraganj police OC Abdul Latif Mia said they were tipped-off of a robbery-in-progress on the Rangpur-Dinajpur Highway.
“The robbers opened fire as soon as our team reached the spot. Police retaliated when two of them died on the spot,” he told bdnews24.com Rahman was named in over hundred cases while Chandra in 12 cases of robbery, said the police officer. — bdnews24.com
