Two minor siblings drowned while taking bath in a local pond of Manikganj municipality on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Shahadat Hossain, 8, and his elder sister, 9, children of day-labourer Abdus Sobhan from Lalmonirhat.
Locals said Sobhan along with his family came to Manikganj one month back and rented a house in Sewta area.
Victim’s father was out for work and their mother was feeding her younger child when Shahadat and Fatema went to take bath around 2:30pm.
However, they met their watery burial in the pond, said officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Rakibuzzaman.
