Elena I Sarapultseva and Olga Momot, professors of the National Research Nuclear University, Russia paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman at thelatter’s office on the campus on Monday.
Former Chairman of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) Prof Shafiqul Islam Bhuiyan and Prof of the Department of Physics of DU Ishtiaque Moyeen Syed were present, among others, on the occasion, said a DU press release.
During the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programmes by the DU and the National Research Nuclear University, Russia.
They have agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in this regard soon, the release added.
Later, the Russian Professors delivered a special lecture on “Non-Energy Application of the Atomic Technologies and Advantages” at DU Physics Department auditorium.
