Two accused in the mason Rubel murder case was yesterday placed on a day’s remand. Magistrate Ziaur Rahman of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order on Thursday after hearing.
Investigation Officer of the case and Khilgaon Police Station Inspector (Operation) Jahangir Kabir Khan produced the accused in the court and sought seven days’ remand for both the accused. The defence lawyer appealed for bail and cancellation of the remand plea. However, the court granted the remand rejecting the
bail petitions. RAB arrested the accused from Khilgaon area of the capital on Tuesday night.
Police recovered Rubel’s dead body from Inderkandi of Khilgaon. On Sunday at midnight Rubel went out of his residence and hours after his body was found on a road near Baitul Jannat Jumma Mosdque, which is near his house.
