Death of theft suspect in custody: Two probe bodies formed

The Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) on Sunday morning constituted a three-member investigation committee to investigate into the death of an accused in police custody here on Saturday.
CMP Commissioner Abdul Jalil Mondol constituted the committee headed by Mizanur Rahman, an Additional Deputy Commissioner, on Saturday night.
Other two members of the committee are Dipak Jyoti Khisa, Assistant Commissioner of Panchalish Zone of CMP, and Belal Uddin Jahangir, Inspector of Detective Branch police.
According to a CMP source, the committee has already started their investigation and they will submit the report within three days.
Earlier, a theft case accused identified as Ishaq Miah, 40, allegedly died in police custody at Kotwali Police Station on Saturday.
He was a security guard of Zahid Enterprise, a soft drinks distributor.
Company Manager filed a case with Kotwali Police Station against him on charge of stealing cash from the office on Friday, upon which the police arrested him on that day.
He was found hanging in the toilet of the police station on Saturday morning. His family members, however, claimed that the police tortured Ishaq to death in their custody.
