A two-member UK team on Sunday paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique at his office on the campus on Sunday. Country Director of British Council Barbara Wickham led the team, said a DU press release.
Another member of the delegation was Ali Campbell, reader of Queen Mary University of London. DU Theatre and Performance Studies Department Chairman Sudip Chakraborty was present in the meeting.
During the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of strengthening ongoing collaborative academic and research programs undertaken by Dhaka University and Queen Mary University of London.
They stressed the need for exchanging teachers, students, researchers and cultural teams between the two universities.
The possibilities of holding Bangla drama festivals as well as workshops, seminars, symposiums and conferences in both Bangladesh and UK under the joint auspices of Dhaka University and British Council were also discussed in the meeting, the release added.
