Two persons were killed in separate incidents in the city and district early on Friday.
The deceased were identified as port lorry assistant Samir Nath,39, son of Kemosh Nath of Hashimpur village under Chandanaish Upazila and Muslim Uddin, 26, hailed from Lama upazila of Bandarban district.
Samir was killed after a shipping container fell on him at jetty No-13 of Chittagong Port early on Friday.
A rolling container fell on Samir at about 2:40am while he was collecting seal numbers of the vehicles for offloading goods to ship, port sources said.
He was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where on-duty doctor declared him dead, CMCH police outpost sources said.
In another incident, motorcycle rider Muslim Uddin died and another rider Ruhul Amin was injured when a bus of Hanif Paribahan hit the motorcycle on Chittagong- Cox’s Bazar Highway at Bellapara area at around 12:00am.
Muslim succumbed to injuries at CMCH, said Nayek Jahangir Alam of CMCH Police out post.
