Two killed in road mishap on Bangabandhu Bridge

Two people were killed and seven others injured when a tractor caught fire after being hit by a bus collided on Bangabandhu Bridge. The accident took place on Saturday night in the North Bengal-bound lane near Pillar No 19 of Bangabandhu Bridge.
The deceased were identified as Majnu of Dimla police station in Nilphamari district and Nazrul Islam, son of Ramzan Ali of the same Upazila.
According to the Traffic Control Room (TCR) of Bangabandhu Bridge, the tractor overturned and caught fire after being hit by a passenger bus of Shyamoli Paribahan from behind in the North Bengal-bound lane on Bangabandhu Bridge at around 3:00 pm.
Two persons in the tractor were burnt to death on the spot and seven others were injured at the time. The injured have been shifted to Tangail General Hospital. Besides, the bodies of the two burnt have been sent to Sirajganj General Hospital.
Shafiqul Islam, OC of Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station, said vehicles have been plying on the highway slowly after the accident on Bangabandhu Bridge at night.
