A woman and a young man were killed and two others injured in separate incidents of shooting at Pekua and Teknaf Upazilas in Cox’s Bazar.
Pekua Police Station OC Saifur Rahman said that housewife Selina Akhter was shot dead allegedly by a young man named Mamun over a land dispute in Ghona area of ??Barbakia Bodamajhi in Pekua around 2:30 pm on Sunday. College students Nazmur Shakib and Saiful Islam were injured in the incident. Later, the locals detained two people and handed them over to the police.
Meanwhile, a young man named Imam Hossain was shot dead by the members of Khaleq force in Leda Nurali Para of Hnila Union in Teknaf around 10:00 pm on Sunday. On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
Teknaf Police Station OC Hafizur Rahman said the body was sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
