Two people were kidnapped for 12 lakh taka ransom from Fakirhat on Saturday night.
In this connection a case has been lodged under Fakirhat Thana on August 19 against five miscreants.
The accused are : Rubel Mollah alias Dollar (26), son of Md. Motiar Rahman of Satsayea village, Rubel Sardar (28), son of Yousuf Ali Sardar of Mulghar Rajpat village, Biplob Hajra (23), son of Mojam Hajra, Nadim Shaikh (27), son of Harun Shaikh, Enamul Shaikh (30), son of Mokammel Shaikh of Sonakhali village. Among them , Police arrested three miscreants. ASP of Fokirhat Model Thana Mizanur Rahman told the newsmen that Susanta Kumar Roy , son of late Kiron Chandra Roy of Burirdanga village of Mongla Upazilla and Tapan Ghosh, son of late Dulal Ghosh of Digraj village of the same Upazilla were returning home from a Dhaka bound bus.
When the bus stopped at Fakirhat Bus Station, they got down from the bus for eating food at Moriam Hotel at 1.30 p.m. In course of eating, they got an acquaintance with the kidnapper.
The kidnapper cleverly managed them to get into a white colored microbus and first took them the house of accused Biplob Hajra and then locked them in a fish firm. After that, the miscreants ( Using the number-01859-951042) phoned Nomita Roy (Phnone Number-01795-153635) , wife of Susanta and demanded twelve lakh taka as ransom. Nomita Roy informed the Police Authority about the incident.
Fokirhat Thana Police made a trap using Nomita and was able to arrest Rubel and Dolar during the time of exchanging demanded ransom. After that , according to the statement of the arrestees, they launched an operation and recovered the victims from a fish farm. Police then also arrested another accused named Eanmul .Sensing the presence of the Police, the other accused fled away from the spot. Police is till in operation to arrest the other miscreants.
