City Desk : Prof Dr Hirotaka Ihara and Prof Dr Makoto Takafuji of Kumamoto University, Japan called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr M Akhtaruzzaman on Saturday at the latter’s office of the university. Prof Dr Mohammed Mizanur Rahman, Dr Papia Haque, Dr Abul Khayer Mallik, Dr Mohammad Shaharuzzaman, M Minhajul Islam of the Department of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Dhaka University were present on the occasion, said a press release. During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest specially ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs between DU Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Department and Kumamoto University, Japan. They stressed the need for further strengthening these academic and research collaborations. Prof Dr Hirotaka Ihara, former vice-president of Kumamoto University, has invited DU VC Prof. Akhtaruzzaman to visit his university in April next.
