Two human traffickers arrested

Police arrested two human traffickers and rescued a Malaysia-bound fortune seeker from Chhonua area under Banshkhali upazila of the district in the early hours of Thursday .
The arrested human traffickers were identified as Abdul Malek, 40, and his brother Nasir, 42 while the rescued fortune seeker was Mohammad Mohir Uddin, 32, hailed from Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajgonj district.
On secret information, police arrested the human traffickers from their home around 3.30am and rescued Mohir who was brought there to send to Malaysia illegally through the Bay of Bengal, said Abdus Salam, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Banshkhali police station.
The two brothers used to send fortune seekers of different areas of the country to Malaysia illegally through the Bay of Bengal.
A case was filed with Banshkhali thana in this connection, district police sources said.
