Two housewives were allegedly gang raped at Kamalganj upazila in Moulvibazar.
As the rape incident occurred in a tea garden area around 9pm on Friday night.
On that night, the police conducted separate raids and arrested seven persons for their alleged involvement in the incident.
The two women are undergoing treatment at Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital.
Relatives sources said that the two women were raped at Dewrachhara tea garden area while they were returning homes on Friday night, after meeting their husbands in the district jail.
According to police, the two women are not previous familiar each other. Recently husband of one of the women jailed in a case. They were returning
homes by an auto-rickshaw. The auto-rickshaw driver called some others who raped them in turns.
The rapists are identified as Alamgir Hossain,25, Rubel Miah,27, Ucuf Ali,35, Salim Miah, 26, Robilal, 20, Bikash, 23, and Abu Shofian, 45.
Mohammad Arifur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Komolgang Police Station, confirmed the news of arresting seven persons over the incident.
Lodging of case in this connection was under process while the report was filed, OC added.
