Two found dead in Chandpur; 2 held

Police recovered the body of a minor boy who went missing on December 3 from a septic tank at Ghona village in Matlab South upazila on early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Mahib, 7, a class one student of local primary school and son of expatriate Masud Rana, a resident of the village.
Allegation has been raised against his own uncle that he killed his nephew for failing to get ransom money, said AKMS Iqbal, officer-in-charge of Matlab South Police Station.
On information, a police team led by SI Ruhul Amin recovered the bloated body from the tank around 2:30 am and sent it to Chandpur General Hospital for autopsy.
Following this incident, police arrested victim’s uncle Jamal Hossain, 50, and a neighbour Shojib, 35, for alleged involvement in this heinous killing. A case was filed in this connection. Earlier on December 3, soon after the boy went missing, it was the uncle Jamal who filed a general diary with the police station, the OC added.
 Another reports adds: A local land broker was found dead by railway tracks near Hajiganj Railway Station in Hajiganj upazila on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Ershadullah Kanchan, 38, son of Abdul Matin of Mokimabad area in the upazila. Officer-in-charge of Chandpur Government Railway Police Station Sarwar Alam said they recovered the body in the morning and sent it to Chandpur General Hospital for postmortem.
The body bore severe injury marks in the head, legs and other parts, he said.
Family members said Kanchan went out of their house on Friday morning and never returned.
